High-Security Key Control

Tamper-Proof Key Rings®

Know When a Key Ring Has Been Opened

Protect critical keys and assets with serialized stainless-steel security rings designed so they cannot be opened without leaving evidence.

ID

Unique Serial Number

Every ring is permanently identified to help detect substitution or replacement.

Tamper Evident

Opening the sealed ring requires permanent cutting of the ring or seal.

Five Sizes

Choose from five ring diameters for small through large key sets.

S/F

Solid or Flexible

Each size is available in solid or flexible stainless-steel styles.

More Than a Standard Key Ring

Add a Physical Layer of Key Accountability

Tamper-Proof Key Rings® are high-security stainless-steel rings designed for applications where ordinary split rings do not provide enough control.

Once properly sealed, keys or assets cannot simply be removed and replaced without opening the ring. The permanently engraved serial number provides another way to verify that the same ring has returned.

Security You Can Physically Verify

Several design details help make the ring itself part of the key-control process.

Tamper-Proof Key Ring smooth crimped seal

Smooth Seal

The crimping process produces a smooth recessed seal so the finished ring can rotate through a full 360 degrees without a raised obstruction.

Permanent serial number engraved on Tamper-Proof Key Ring

Unique ID

Each ring is permanently serialized before distribution, helping identify substitution or replacement.

Flexible braided stainless-steel Tamper-Proof Key Rings

Flexible Rings

Flexible rings use braided stainless-steel cable while retaining the same tamper-evident sealing concept.

Color-coded Tamper-Proof Key Ring identification tags

Color Coding

Optional colored identification tags help organize key groups for faster visual recognition.

Two Ring Styles

Solid or Flexible Stainless Steel

Both styles use the same security principle while giving you a choice based on how the key set will be handled.

Solid stainless-steel Tamper-Proof Key Ring sizes
Solid

Solid Stainless-Steel Rings

The rigid solid-ring design provides a strong, traditional key-ring shape for high-security key sets and controlled assets.

4 mm ring thickness

Flexible stainless-steel Tamper-Proof Key Ring sizes
Flexible

Flexible Stainless-Steel Rings

Braided stainless-steel construction provides greater flexibility for equipment, large key sets and applications where a rigid ring is less practical.

How Tamper-Proof Key Rings Work

1

Load

Place the keys or compatible assets onto the selected solid or flexible ring.

2

Close

For solid rings, use the closing tool to align the ends in preparation for sealing.

3

Crimp

Use the proper crimping tool to create the permanent smooth security seal.

4

Cut to Open

Removing or changing secured assets requires permanently cutting the sealed ring.

Five Available Sizes

Match Ring Capacity to the Key Set

Each diameter is available in both solid and flexible configurations.

1"

Approx. 14 Keys

2.5 cm diameter

1⅝"

Approx. 22 Keys

4.1 cm diameter

2"

Approx. 30 Keys

5 cm diameter

3"

Approx. 46 Keys

7.62 cm diameter

4"

Approx. 66 Keys

10.1 cm diameter

Key capacities are approximate and are based on standard builders hardware. Actual capacity depends on key size and the assets attached to the ring.

Color-Coded Control

Make Key Groups Easier to Identify

Color-coded identification tags provide a simple visual method for separating departments, buildings, vehicles, access levels or other key groups.

The tags do not replace the permanent ring serial number. They add another quick visual reference for everyday key organization.

Ring Tools

The Right Tools for Closing and Opening

Tamper-Proof Key Rings use purpose-built tools so the ring can be properly closed, permanently sealed and intentionally cut when changes are authorized.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tamper-Proof Key Ring FAQs

What makes the ring tamper evident?

Once properly crimped closed, the ring must be permanently cut in order to remove or replace the secured keys or assets.

Does each ring have an identification number?

Yes. Each ring is permanently engraved with a unique serial number to help detect ring substitution.

What sizes are available?

Rings are available in 1-inch, 1⅝-inch, 2-inch, 3-inch and 4-inch diameters.

Are flexible rings available?

Yes. Each ring size is available in both solid stainless-steel and flexible braided stainless-steel configurations.

What tools are required?

Solid rings use a closing tool before crimping. Both ring styles use the appropriate crimping tool for sealing and can be permanently opened with an approved cutting tool.

Can the rings be reused?

The sealed ring is intended as a one-time-use security device. Once cut open, a new ring is used to resecure the key set.

Can they be used with electronic key cabinets?

Yes. Tamper-Proof Key Rings® can be used with compatible Security Asset Manager™ electronic cabinet configurations.

Are identification colors available?

Yes. Five color-coded tag options are available to help visually organize different key groups.

Stronger Key Accountability
